About us
Founded in 2018, TALEH HERITAGE FOUNDATION is a nonprofit organization with 501c3, and incorporated in the state of Nebraska, U.S.A. Taleh (Somali: Taleex, Arabic: تلأ ح) is a historical town in the eastern Sool region of Somalia. Taleh is home to several historic tomb sites and structures dating from the 1800s and earlier in present-day Sool and Sanaag, and Cayn regions of Somalia. The country of Somalia has an abundance of ancient and medieval sites that are echoes of ancient trade cities and kingdoms from the Middle Ages that, for centuries, successfully carved out and defended their dominance in East Africa, the Red Sea, and the Indian Ocean. Somalia has never signed the UNESCO charter, making none of its historic sites currently eligible for World Heritage Status. We advocate through the Somali government to sign the UNESCO charter, so an extensive list of ancient and medieval sites can put forward as candidates for World Heritage Status
